Services & Program background

Participants in the Bonding Stronger Together Program will be provided with three major takeaways:

Emotional Support

Participants in this support group have found it to be beneficial to lean on each other.  Spending time with others in the group often helps to overcome the feelings of sadness, loneliness, and depression that are often associated with grief.

Validation

Grief is experienced in so many ways -- physical, emotional, and spiritual. It’s important to have a place to recognize that these reactions are a normal part of the grief journey. While every loss is unique, this group will allow participants to bask in the support of others who have experienced loss and share their journey.

Education

There is no single solution to dealing with loss.   Participants of this group will become equipped with a variety of coping skills.  The educational components will include guest speakers, written materials from knowledgeable experts in the field of grief, as well as shared stories from participants in the group.

This program is currently structured to offer (3) virtual sessions. Each session is an hour and a half long and is conducted over three weeks.

Our initial grief support classes are available on Saturday mornings or weekday evenings

Contact us for specific dates and times for upcoming sessions.

Week 1. Name: Participants will meet each other and have the opportunity to share the name of their loved ones, how they passed away, and the impact their loved ones had on their life.  Each participant will be provided with a journal and written and verbal tools to cope with grief.

Week 2. Claim: Participants will discuss how the death of their loved one has affected them emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Participants will be given written and verbal materials that explain normal reactions to loss, significant grief experiences, and information on how to name their pain.

Week 3. Reframe: Participants will be able to share the impact their loved ones had on their lives and the gifts that they have received.  They will recognize the resiliency that they are achieving.  Participants will discuss their new identity without their loved ones and discuss their life purpose and meaning.
